THE MOST FAMOUS PORTUGUESE EGG TARTS IN LISBON PORTUGAL – PASTÉIS DE BELÉM

I took an impromptu red-eye flight for a 48 hour visit to Portugal because I was craving egg tarts!

Suggested itinerary (2 days)

Day 1 - Visit the Belem Tower, take a break at Pateis de Belem for egg tarts, stop by the Times Out Market Lisboa for lunch, walk around Bairro Alto, take the tram and do a walking tour (recommend YourGuide Lisbon: History, Stories and Lifestyle Walking Tour). Enjoy a Fado show in the evening at Fado ao Carmo (reservation required). Party it up in the international district (Incognito or Lounge).

Day 2 - Visit the Lisbon Oceanarium. Walk through the art collective at LX Factory and support local artisans. Enjoy a meal at A Muralha Tasca Tipica Lisboa. Wonder around the winding roads in Alfama. Stop for pictures at Miradouro da Senhora do Monte or Miradouro de Santa Luzia viewpoints. Enjoy an evening walk around the Praca do Comercio square.

Transportation

The entire city is fairly accessible through trams, buses, subways and trains. I recommend getting a Lisboa card at a transportation hub such as Cais do Sodre and filling it with 20 to 30 euros.
